Toronto Dog Parks

Toronto has more than 70 off-leash areas, and no shortage of dogs to fill them. Some are wide-open fields, some are sandy beaches, some are wooded trails that barely feel like the city anymore. What they have in common is simple: your dog runs free, and you're still responsible for them.

Off-leash doesn't mean unsupervised. Keep your dog in sight, step in if things get tense, and clean up after them. Some parks split off a small dog area for anything under 20 lbs, which is worth knowing before you walk in with a puppy or a nervous dog. And not every park is created equal: locals will tell you some are well-kept and fenced, others are just a gravel lot, and quality still varies a lot block to block.

So knowing your options before you go actually matters. The map below shows some of Toronto's off-leash areas.
