Toronto Parking

Parking in Toronto comes from a mix of sources: Green P, the city's own network and the largest municipal parking operator in North America, as well as private garages, lots, and street meters operated by other companies across downtown and beyond. Between them, there's rarely a shortage of spots. Finding the right one, at the right price, is the actual challenge.

Rates and rules shift block by block and operator by operator. Some charge by the half hour, some by a flat daily rate, and prices near the core run well above what you'd pay a few blocks out. Free parking downtown is close to nonexistent, especially on evenings and weekends, so it's worth checking the sign rather than assuming.

Big events change the picture fast. A game at Scotiabank Arena or a show at BMO Field can fill every lot within a few blocks well before a game begins, so it's worth having a backup spot in mind rather than circling once you're already there.
